Made by Me - Felt Mermaid

I just wanted to share with you something that I made for my daughter. This felt mermaid was inspired by one that I saw in a store before Christmas. My daughter really liked that mermaid and I would have bought it, but after taking a look at the price and the detail of the doll I felt I could do a better job. I am not sure what you guys will think of it, but my daughter absolutely loves it and it made for a very special Valentines Day gift for her.

I used to hate Valentines Day with a passion only equaled by the enthusiasm with which jewelry stores and Hallmark sell this holiday through the mass media. I think it must have been that it seemed like such a shallow and overly commercialized holiday. These days I like looking through all the various sites for inspiration and DIY projects to celebrate what this day means to me. An opportunity to show the people I love just how much they mean to me. I thought this would be a great opportunity to share some of my favorite projects with you.
